6 things to do in Sydney as a single person
The world is big and there are millions of interesting places to visit, but we already know that we can’t visit all of them. That’s why we usually go back to the well-known places and try to find something new, or maybe just revisit the ones we haven’t seen in a while. But what if you’re somewhere where you don’t know anyone? What do you do if Sydney is your last stop before going home after a long trip around Australia?
Well I’ll tell you what: You’ve come to the right place! This article will cover several unique things about Sydney so even if it’s not your first time here, there might still be some parts that surprise you. This whole city is built on top of hills. Sydney is gorgeous with jaw-dropping views everywhere you look. I think the only time I’ve ever been bored in all my travels here was when I spent a whole month living in central Sydney without a car or bike…and that’s saying something!
And if you think you want some more excitement in your life apart from this, you can check out the Ivy Société escorts.
If you’re still reading this, then let’s move on to the good stuff!
The first thing most people do usually is check out The Rocks. It’s close to Circular Quay, which is where the ferry comes into town from around Australia and it has many historical things there like old pubs, alleyways they used for torture back in ye days, plus some great restaurants. But if you walk about 10 minutes away from The Rocks your eyes are going to pop out of your head when you see the view! The other way you can go is towards the opera house, but I recommended starting to walk away from it instead. From there you can keep walking all the way to Kirribilli or Watsons Bay.
1) Pitt St mall When you’re down at Circular Quay try not to miss this mall it’s worth spending a few hours here just checking out all these big brands that are only here in Sydney. This place is full of people shopping, eating at restaurants or even seeing people perform on stages everywhere. You’ll find street performers and musicians throughout so if you want some entertainment while touring around check them out!
2) Hyde Park Just like every city has an iconic landmark, Sydney’s is this huge park in the middle of the city. There are always people hanging out here and it’s a great place to just sit, relax or go for a run! The park has everything from ponds with ducks and fountains, to statues depicting historical figures. There’s also a Holocaust memorial to remember what happened during World War II, which I know you’ll appreciate since you’ve probably been learning about that whole war through your school back home.
3) Luna Park Luna Park is Sydney’s answer to Disneyland: A complete amusement park with lots of rides and games for everyone! If you haven’t had enough riding roller coasters around Australia, then be sure to check it out. It takes about 2 hours by train so don’t miss it if you’re close by!
4) Taronga Zoo This is my favorite zoo in the whole world because the view you get from it is incredible. The best time to go is during a sunny day but no matter what, be sure to check out the platypus enclosure and see one of Australia’s most famous animals up close. You can also take a cable car across to get a different view of Sydney or just walk down around on foot. It takes about 30 minutes by bus so don’t miss it!
5) Bondi Beach Bondi beach is definitely one of the more popular beaches for tourists here in Sydney and you’ll know why when you get there: There are always lifeguards watching over everyone at all times, plus there’s a really long path where you can easily rent bikes or buy food to chow down on while watching the surfers. There are actually lots of good surfing beaches here but I’d recommend Bondi since it’s one of the most popular and right next to the city!
6) Sculptures in The Rocks This is probably one of my favorite parts of Sydney, they have all sorts of art sculptures that they put up every year by artists from all over Australia. You’ll probably see some pieces that you like more than others(I know I do!) but don’t miss out on checking them out when you’re in town. They usually change it up around October so check before going if you want to see something specific!
